Awaken Groups are our answer to the question every fruitful and faithful church faces: In a large growing church everyone may not know everyone else. How do we build a sense of family and community? The Awaken Group is a smaller gathering of Awaken church members that come together once a week during the Group Semesters. In this laid-back, casual atmosphere, members are encouraged through discussion and relationships to deepen their walk with Christ.

Every Christian with children faces a dilemma with every weekend service: “How can I make sure my children are being taught from the Bible without having to give up my own Bible instruction?” Awaken Kids isn’t just a daycare service, but provides parents with peace of mind. The mission of the Awaken Kids team is two-fold: to allow parents an undistracted experience at church, while giving an age-appropriate teaching and spiritual formation to their children. The Awaken Media team provides the first line of contact that many people have with Awaken Church. Whether through the website, the sound booth, the weekly podcasts or the many other ways in pre- and post-production they utilize technology and creativity for God’s service.

Worshiping and teaching about God are the focus of Awaken Church. The Cleaning Crew makes it possible to keep that focus by allowing the church family to worship in a clean area every week. While the maintenance of the church building and grounds is an unsung task, it’s also one of the most important for a smoothly running service.

Coming into a church building can be a stressful experience, especially if one is a visitor. The Greeting Crew is the first set of faces one sees at Awaken Church, providing a welcoming smile and being a helpful guide in getting to know one’s way around.

To be Christian means to serve, and The Hospitality Team is about serving the practical needs of the Awaken Church family. Any life event can open up many unforeseen needs from food, to clothing to needing a space to stay. Whatever the need, the Hospitality Team aims to be the hands and feet of Jesus for the church at large, providing meals, encouragement and help wherever needed.

The Clarksville community is strongly reliant on the nearby Fort Campbell army base. With members of the armed forces and their families being a core component of the Awaken Church family, the LIFT ministry team is Awaken’s way of saying a “thank you” that understands all our military has to endure. LIFT supports our military members and their families through prayer, but also tangibly, through the ample use of care packages during deployment and by directly helping the families at home.

In obedience to one of His last directions to us before he finished his ministry on Earth, one of Awaken’s primary goals is to make disciples of Jesus. It takes more than just raising one’s hand or saying a prayer to count as a disciple, but that is where Awaken’s Next Step counselors fit in. Our counselors provide them with the help and information a new Christian needs as they begin this new life and new commitment to Jesus.

Unfortunately, we still live in a world that is imperfect and hostile sometimes, and for the best interests of the Awaken family, the Security Team exists to protect those in attendance at Awaken as well as supporting the other ministries in providing a distraction-free environment during services. The Security team provides the policies and protocols that are in place in the rare instance when they may be needed.

There are times when just filling out a prayer request slip or leaving a prayer request on the website doesn’t seem to be enough. The Refuge is a special time and place set apart for focused prayer with others before the main weekend services.

The Worship Team is another one of Awaken Church’s more visible ministries. Because worship and praise form an active and crucial connection between God and people, the Worship Team serves God humbly, with a posture of excellence through music, guiding others to focus on Jesus Christ so that we all have hearts prepared to hear and learn from his Word.
