HOW WE DO THINGS
TEACHING
God’s Word is living and active ( Hebrews 4:12), and able to thoroughly equip us for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17) so we teach it like we believe it. Pastor Kevin teaches expositionally from the Scriptures by teaching chapter-by-chapter and verse-by-verse through books of the Bible. By teaching this way, we allow God to speak to our needs when and how He sees fit. We study in the New King James Version and have Bibles available at the church for those who do not own their own. You can also download the YouVersion Bible app for your smart phone or tablet as well!
SMALL GROUPS
One of the main places that we channel our time and resources is into our small groups called Awaken Groups. Awaken Groups meet weekly throughout Clarksville in blocks of 13 weeks (semesters). THe format is laid back and discussion-driven. Leaders facilitate discussion based on the previous Sunday’s message. Go to awakengroups.org for more info.
GIVING
We believe that souls are the best way to invest. We do not take a formal offering, but we provide boxes around the church for your offerings and prayer requests. Secure online giving is also available for one-time or recurring gifts..
KIDS
We LOVE kids at Awaken and we believe that they are the church. We go out of our way to show kids God’s love in a caring, hands-on environment which enables the adults to focus on the study and application of God’s Word. You can sign them in to the appropriate room 15 minutes before each service begins. Classes are available for kids ages 8 weeks to 10 years.
STUDENTS
Awaken Students is an extension of Awaken Groups targeted toward middle school and high school students. It meets weekly at the church, giving students an opportunity to meet with other students their age as well as Godly leaders who set a great example of what it looks like to live out Christianity. WORSHIP
Worship is contemporary and upbeat.
Hymnals and handbells? No.
Excitement and energy? Yes.
After all, if we’re really worshipping the God who became one of us and died the death that we deserved, our singing had better reflect our thankfulness!
CHURCH IN GENERAL
Since God focuses on your heart, not your hair, we make that our main concern as well. Wear something modest and comfortable and come ready to worship and dig deep into God’s Word.
